The main purpose of choosing and using an aluminum alloy scaffold is to work at height, but how to choose the correct and appropriate height has puzzled many construction workers. Whether the erection of aluminum scaffolding is standard directly affects the load-bearing of the whole scaffold and the safety of operators, and indirectly affects the project progress and construction cost. How to correctly determine the height of the aluminum alloy scaffold? This paper will discuss the height standard that engineers should abide by when erecting aluminum scaffolding.
This paper includes the following points:
What height should be selected for erecting aluminum scaffolding?
What are the factors that affect the height of aluminum scaffold erection?
Points to note for erecting aluminum scaffolding.
1. Scaffold height ratio (indoor)
In the interior, the maximum height of the platform is 3.5 times its width. For example, the width of the platform is 1.35 meters, and the height cannot be higher than 4.7 meters.
2. Scaffold height ratio (outdoor without wind)
When there is no wind outside, the maximum height of the platform shall be three times its width. For example, the width of the platform shall be 1.35 meters, and the height shall not be higher than 4.1 meters. Note: outdoor scaffolding should be strictly limited in height, not higher than 3 times the width.
3. Standard for external support devices
In the interior, the height of the table is 3.5 times its width, such as the ST1 standard external support, whose width is increased to 3.47 meters, so its height can be increased to a maximum of 12.15 meters. Outdoor, the height of the workbench is 3 times its width, such as the ST2 large external support, whose width is increased to 5.83 m, so its height can be increased to a maximum of 17.5 m.
The external factors influencing the erection of aluminum scaffold mainly include transverse force, wind force and external force. For example, when a construction worker drills a hole in a wall with a construction tool such as an electric drill, the pressure generated creates an opposite reaction. At this time, the height of the scaffold should be reduced accordingly. In addition, whether the ground condition is good, there are obstacles that will also affect the height of scaffolding erection.
Be alert to strong winds and gusts outside. When the wind speed exceeds 7.9 m/s (wind speed is greater than 4), the scaffolding operation shall be stopped; When the wind speed exceeds 13.8 m/s (the wind speed is greater than 6), the scaffold shall be rigidly connected to other solid structure objects; Scaffolding should be removed in advance if it is possible to exceed 18m/s (wind force greater than force 8). Be aware of the cyclone that may be caused by the building.
